Ankeny - Alberta B. Bowdre, age 89, of Ankeny, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. A private family burial will take place at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines.
Alberta was born May 1, 1931 in Albia, Iowa to Archie and Meryle (Springer) Breese and was a high school graduate of Albia Schools. She spent 62 years with her husband, Leonard, and together they raised two children.
Alberta is survived by her grandson, Brent (Mary) Phares and son-in-law, Art Phares both of Ankeny; great-grandchildren, Marley and Samantha Phares; and one brother, Monroe (LaDonna) Breese of Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; son, Gary; daughter, Terri Phares; brother, Robert; sister, Livona; half-sister, Lucille; and half-brother, Deliene.
