Robert "Bob" Mervin Yeck, 79, of Plano, TX, passed in peace on June 16, 2021.
Robert was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Roy and Myrtle Yeck on May 6th, 1942. He went to high school at Capitol Hill and graduated in 1960. Following graduation, Robert went on to both Oklahoma State and the University of Oklahoma, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as an Engineering Manager for Nortel Networks for 22 years.
He enjoyed a vast array of hobbies: Genealogy, fishing, wood and leather works, radio, tv and electronic repair to name just a few. No matter what, many of these hobbies ended up spread across the kitchen table and drawing the ire of his wife Carolyn.
Robert is survived by his children-daughter Lori and spouse Gene Sutton of Grand Prairie, TX; son David Yeck of Gun Barrel City, TX; son Chris and spouse Carrie Yeck of Josephine, TX; grandchildren-Kyle and spouse Jessi Yeck, Nicole and spouse Dan Madden, Craig, Kellye, Ian, Kolten, Max, Madison and Lilly, and great-grandchildren-Kaiden, Carson, Chloe, Arielle and Jake.
He is preceded in death by his spouse Carolyn, parents Roy and Myrtle and sister Marilyn Vacek.
Funeral service will be held graveside at Ridgeview Cemetery on Saturday June 19th at 11 am with Chaplain Robert Matthews of Plano Bible Chapel officiating. Merit Memorial Funeral & Cremation Care will be handling the funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made on Robert's behalf to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
