Born on October 4, 1952, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Hazel Louise (Mose) Barkdoll.
Scott was the owner of S. L. Barkdoll & Son Transport having been a truck driver most of his life. He graduated from SHHS Class of 1970 then entered the Army Reserves in 1972 serving until 1978. He was a member of Clopper-Michael Post 10 American Legion and also chairman of the board. He was a member of the Big Oak Lodge and the Woodsboro Post 282 SAL.
Scott was a member of the Christ Reformed Church in Hagerstown. He enjoyed riding his Harley, camping and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Williamson Barkdoll; son, Jeremy Barkdoll (Robyn); grandson, Jakob Barkdoll (Cheyane); two great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Carter Barkdoll; step granddaughter, Kaylin Poffenberger; and step great-grandson, Grayson. He is also survived by brother, Ronald Barkdoll (Carol); sister, Linda Ginserg (Bobby); Uncle Bobby Mose (Natalie); Aunt Carolyn Sue Keller; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his three fur babies, Daisy, Diesel and Marlie.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
A celebration of Scott's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 19th at the funeral home in Boonsboro. Pastor Jimmy Wells will officiate. Burial will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
Memorial donations may be made to Washington County Humane Society or to GW Medical Faculty Associates.
