SCOTT DAVID CUMMINS Scott David Cummins, 29, of Statler Run, WV went home to see his Lord and Savior on August 16, 2023.

He became engaged to the gorgeous love of his life, fiancée, Becca King, on Monday, August 14. He was born on December 29, 1993 at Mon General Hospital.

He attended the Daybrook Elementary School from kindergarten through 3rd grade and Mason Dixon Elementary from 4th through 6th grade. He graduated from Clay-Battelle High School in 2012. He was a member of the FFA, where he raised and showed feeder calves annually from age 12 through 21. During middle school and high-school he played the trumpet in the C-B Band.

He achieved his blackbelt status in Taekwondo, and became a blackbelt instructor for two years while in high school. He was also a member of the science team, which traveled to Wallops Island, VA for NASA rocket launches annually.

Scott graduated from Fairmont State University in May of 2018 with a B. A. in Criminal Justice. He desired to become a lawyer and passed the LSAT with exceptional scores to attend law school. He worked at Stengers car wash during his college years.

He was employed by Sodexo Food Corp for the WVU Mountaineer Stadium. He worked for the Monongalia County clerk's office election board for several years. After college he worked for Clear Mountain Bank in Morgantown. He then attended the Carolina Construction School and became a certified heavy equipment operator in 2019.

He has been employed by Morgan Corporation in Charlotte, NC since 2020 to the present time as a heavy equipment operator. His favorite equipment to operate was the excavator and dozer.

He is also employed by the United States Army. He was a reservist in the 463rd Engineering Battalion as an E4 Supply Specialist since 2020. Scott really enjoyed working on the farm with his dad and brother feeding the farm animals, and helping with various farm projects including digging projects with his personal mini excavator, which was his favorite farm hobby.

He also loved to cook, travel to new places, try new food, and spend time with the Cummins and Yost families and their friends. He and Becca often enjoyed working out regularly at the fitness center, fishing, boating, jet skiing, and exploring the farm on the Honda side by side.

He was a protestant by faith and affiliated with the Jakes Run Assembly of God Church. Surviving are his parents, Jess and Glenda Yost Cummins; his brother, Luke; and Scott's fiancée, Becca King. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, James and Nancy Cummins, aunts and uncles, Leanne and Michael Durst, Priscilla Hamilton, and Timothy and Teresa Cummins. Cousins, Beth Durst Hutson (Andrew), M. J. Durst, Eric Cummins (Elena) and Ryan Cummins; and second cousins, Spencer and Nikolai Hutson. He also leaves his beloved dog Josie, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, who was his favorite canine companion.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather, Audra Errol Yost and Jerry Yost, and his Uncle Ronald Hamilton.

Friends and family may call from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the Jakes Run Assembly of God, 1383 Jakes Run Road, Fairview, WV.

A celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor Rob Bennett, Pastor Jerry Teter, Pastor Rose Saunders, and Pastor Kelly Barr.

The burial will be in the Eddy Chapel Cemetery. The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville, WV is in charge of arrangements.
