BONNIE MARIE DIER, AGE 65

And a resident of Franklinton passed away peacefully Tuesday night August 8, 2023 at Resthaven Living Center after a lengthy illness. She was a graduate of Franklinton High School Class of 1976 and worked for many years as a librarian for the Washington Parish Library system. Bonnie did countless hours of research into the history of Washington Parish and subsequently started the "History of Washington Parish, Louisiana" Facebook page to share with others and also learn from them. The page, filled with information, is still active today. Bonnie also studied the genealogy of her family and others. She loved photography, taking beautiful pictures of birds, tiny hummingbirds and other wildlife, as well as photos at large community events and social gatherings.

Daughter: Misty Givens Payne

Grandchildren: Ashleigh Dickerson and fiancé Jack Morse,
Cassidy and Jacob Penton

Also numerous cousins

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Jane Magee Dier, grandparents T.C. Magee and Bonnie Hunt Magee, Elisha Dier and Irma Whittington Dier, uncle Marvin E. Magee.

Following a private ceremony, Bonnie was laid to rest next to her mother in the Magee Cemetery at Lawrence Creek.
