Linda Carolyn Welker, age 73 of Sugar Grove, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 19, 2023 in the Pavilion on Main in Sandwich, IL. She was born on September 15, 1949 in Beebe, AR the daughter of Newt and Beatrice (Valentine) Taylor. Linda was united in marriage on September 23, 1993 in Buffalo, MO to Ivan Welker and they spent many happy years until his passing on June 7, 2014. Mrs. Welker was formerly employed as the supervisor of housekeeping at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and family, everyone knew 37 was her favorite number. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Linda is survived by her children; her grandchildren; her 10 great-grandchildren; her siblings; her special sister-in-law; also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Welker; her parents, Newt and Beatrice Taylor; her siblings, Cletus Taylor and Norma Clotine (Neal) Cochran; her brothers-in-law, Robert Poe and Williefay Abshure; and her first husband, Eugene Carlson, the father of her children. Interment will take place at 12:00 PM on Thursday, August 24, 2023 in the Uniontown Cemetery in rural Knox County, IL.
