Bettie Jane Connor married Henry Williams McKee on Apr 05, 1918, in Stone County, Arkansas, soon after she turned 18, and no longer needed her parents' permission, which they would not give. Betty's older sister had also married Henry Williams McKee, at the tender age of 14, and died before she turned 18. Sadly, Bettie also died at the fairly young age of 35, after giving birth to 10 children, Therman Othel McKee in 1919, Polly Lucille McKee in 1920, Dorris Marie McKee in 1922, Velma Ozel McKee in 1924, Versie Ann McKee
in 1926, Virgie Juanita McKee in 1929, Hazel Ruth McKee in 1931, twins Henry Clifford McKee
& Herman Clide McKee
on Dec. 31, 1932, and Naomie Pauline McKee
on Feb. 26, 1935. She also raised her sister's child, Theodore R. McKee.
