Mrs. Walter Schickling, of Hillsdale, a patient at the Clearfield Hospital the past couple of weeks, died at the institution today. She is survived by eight children.

Mrs. Blance Schickling, widow of the late Walter Schickling, died at the Clearfield Hospital Thursday afternoon, Jan. 21. She had underwent a serious operation for abdominal troubles two weeks ago and never rallied. She was 40 years of age.
Deceased was a daughter of the late Bernard Green, of Girard township and spent practiacally all of her life in that neighborhood. She was married to Walter Schickling, of Lawrence township, twenty years ago. He lost his life through an accident in the Bald Hill mines several years ago. They had seven children, all of whom survive their mother. They have been living in Clearfield the past year.
Mrs. Schickling was a good woman, devoted to her family and sacrificed unceasingly to keep her childrren together and give them an education. She was highly esteemed by all who knew her.
Besides her children mentioned, she is survived by four brothers: Daniel Greeen, Horseheads, N.Y.; Hugh Green, Olean, N.Y.; Robert Green, Emporium, Pa; George Green, Frenchville; and three sisters, Mrs. Anthony Seigfried, LeContes Mills; Mrs. Emma Heckel, Philadelphia and Mrs. M.J. McGoey, Clearfield.
The funeral will be held Monday morning at the Frenchville Catholic church and interment made in the cemetery there.
The remains were removed to the home of M.J. McGoey on South Fifth street where they will remain until Monday morning when the trip to Frenchville will be made.
