SADIE CATHERINE ADKINS

Sadie Catherine Adkins, age 83, of Alderson, West Virginia, passed from this earth on Sunday May 29, 2005, at her home in Alderson, following a long illness.

Born April 8, 1922, at Judson, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Willie Snow Bragg Adkins.

Ms. Adkins lived in Alderson for years and many people may remember her and her late brother Luther fishing the Greenbrier River. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two brothers: Raymond E. Adkins of Liberty, Missouri and James J. Adkins of Alderson, West Virginia, a sister: Bertha E. Kirby of Alderson, West Virginia, a special niece and caregiver: Rebecca J. Adkins at home, three grandchildren: Paul Adkins, Lisa Dec, and Andrew Adkins, all of the Kansas City, Missouri area, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday June 2, 2004, at 2:00 P.M. at the Lobban Funeral Home Chapel, Alderson, West Virginia with Pastor Anthony M. Carter officiating. Burial followed in the Fletcher Addition of the Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, West Virginia. Friends called Wednesday June 1, 2005, from 6 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Lobban Funeral Home, Alderson, West Virginia.
