MARVIN C. CASTO
Marvin C. Casto, 80, Topeka, died March 18, 2001, at the VA Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Casto was a painter for Topeka Radiator for 13 years.
He was born in Hartford, the son of Charles Clarence and Ida Marie Myer Casto.
He served in the Army in World War II.
Mr. Casto moved south of Valley Falls in 1951 to farm. He returned to Topeka in 1973.
He was a member of the Grahem-Herbers Post 3084 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Valley Falls, and the Disabled American Veterans.
He married Dorothy Elizabeth "Betty" Sulzen Aug. 31, 1945, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, LaRita Marie McLain, Euless, Texas; two sons, Donald R. Casto, Meriden, and James D. Casto, Topeka; three brothers, Glenn Casto, California, and Cecil and Dale casto, both Topeka; four sisters, Chrystle Steele, St. Marys, Eunice E. Petesch, Meriden, Wilma Adams, Topeka, and Darlene Brown, California; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Casto was preceded in death by a son, Edward Lee "Bud" Casto, Sept. 14, 1971; a grandson, Daryl Jay Casto, Dec. 28, 1997; and one step-granddaughter, Angie Doll, Sept. 9, 2000.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka. Burial will be in the Meriden Cemetery, with military honors conducted by Grahem-Herbers Post 3084, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Casto will lie in state after 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Parker-Price Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Topeka, or to the American Heart Association, Topeka.
