BILOXI -- Nellie M. Munford Adams, 67, died Tuesday, September 22, 1998, at Keesler AFB Medical Center in Biloxi.
Mrs. Adams was born September 23, 1930, in Arcola, MS. She was a resident of Hamden, CT., for 25 years during which time she was employed with Szabo Foods at Pratt and Whitney in North Haven, CT. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross, Family Service Center and a member of the NCO Wives Club. She was also a member of the Christian Tabernacle Church in Hamden. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Virgie Lee Adams; her parents, Nelson and Virgie Munford; a sister, Verneal Reaves; and a brother, Harry Munford.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Adams of Biloxi; three daughters, Sandra Adams of Hamden, CT., Susan Adams of Hamden, CT., and Sharon Adams-Edge of Biloxi; two sons, Curtis Adams of Hamden, CT., and Clark Adams of Meriden, CT.; three sisters, Carrie Bryant of Vallejo, CA., Rose Bell Lonberger of Biloxi and Angeline Bailey of Biloxi; a brother, Nelson Munford of New Orleans, LA.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 24, 1998, at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi, where friends may call from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, September 25, 1998, at First Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi, a service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Friends may call an hour before service begins. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
