Rebecca Ann was the daughter of Daniel James and Malinda Pate, who were from Tennessee. She first married Benjamin Moore during the hard times of the Civil War, 1863. Only a few months into their marriage, Ben caught pneumonia and died. In 1866, Rebecca Ann married for a second time. His name was Tom Sellers. They had three children, Will, Dick, and John. Following Tom's death, Rebecca married for the third and last time to Andrew Jackson "A.J." Barber, a widower with four children. They had one child, Yancy Jefferson Barber.
