LAPORTE - Mrs. Berny Beck, 84, died Monday in her home. She was born on Nov. 6, 1923, in Stavanger, Norway, to the late Trgve Pedersen and Gudrun (Solskur) Pederson. She was married on Dec. 21, 1946, in Leksand, Sweden, to Gunnar Beck. She was employed by Five Star Grocery Store as a meat wrapper. Survivors include her husband, Gunnar; a son, James R. Beck Sr. of LaPorte; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Carmel Cemetery. Haverstock Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
