Gary E. Prather, 63, of Rural Route 4 died Thursday, July 1, 2004, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital.

Born July 9, 1940, in Oakland Township, Schuyler County, to Vern E. and Viola M. Greenplate Prather, he married Maxine Dickerson on May 27, 1966, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Thomas (and Leslie) and Andy, both of Rushville; one daughter, Mindy (and Tom) Quinn of Rushville; one brother, Jerry (and Marilyn) of Rushville; and one sister, Deborah Howard of Rushville.

He worked at Bartlow Brothers Meat Packing, Schuyler Grain Co. and Beck's Electric, all in Rushville, and Bower Roller Bearing in Macomb.

He was elected Rushville Township Road Commissioner in 1997.

Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery.
