Mr. Bernard F. Upson, Sr., 3760 N. 26th St., died Thursday, April 22, at his home. Mr. Upson was born April 14, 1911, in Almena, Mich., son of Arthur and Kittie Upson and had been a lifelong resident here.
Before his retirement, he had been employed by Kalamazoo Public Schools. He was a chapter member of the March of Dimes and was a past member of the Y M C A and the Moose Lodge No. 88.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy M.; 2 daughters and one son, Mrs. David (Gloria), Rayman of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Dennis (Penny) Kosanke of Galesburg and Bernard F. Upson Jr. of Lansing; 4 grandchildren, Matthew and Jennifer Rayman, Brook and Ryan James Kosanke; his twin sister, Mrs. Clare (Bernice) Smith of Scotts; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were held Monday with Rev. Harold Cuppery, of the Bethel Reformed Church, officiating. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. Argus April 28, 1982 page 2
