Elizabeth 'Betty' Burns was the illegitimate daughter of the poet Robert Burns and Anna Park. She married John Thomson in 1808, a soldier and later a handloom weaver. They had numerous children, including Robert Burns Thomson, who also composed poetry. She died in Pollokshaws, Glasgow.
