Mark C. Lasky, loving father, grandfather and brother

OLEAN - Mark C. Lasky, of 310 Fifth Ave., passed away Saturday (Aug. 19, 2023) at his home, following an illness.

Mark was born May 9, 1957, in Bradford, Pa., and was the son of Bernard and Sylvia S. Paul Lasky. He was formerly married to Julie A. Mullett.

Mark was a 1975 graduate of Olean High School. Right after high school he moved to Israel to study for a few months. After returning to Olean he continued studying at JCC in Olean and then SUNY Cobleskill.

Mark joined his father at the family business "Olean Glass Company" until his father passed away in 1984. He continued to run the business until he sold it in 1993. Mark and his family moved to Ohio where he began driving truck and later drove tour bus for Cleveland South Eastern Trails for about five years. Mark also drove truck for a period of time in Iraq as a private contractor for KBR doing military supply missions. Most recently he worked for Carrier Coach as a driver and bus monitor.

Mark was a member of B'nai Israel where he previously served on the congressional board, and he was a youth group advisor.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling and sports, but most of all he loved his family and extended family who he truly loved spending time with.

Mark is survived by two daughters, Michelle B. (Kevin Carns) Lasky of Jacksonville, Fla. and Brianna N. (Nick) Goodman of Spanish Fork, Utah; a granddaughter, Vera Goodman; a grandson, Korben E. Reynolds; a brother, David C. (Pam) Lasky of Olean; and three nieces, Amanda J. (Peter Coate) Lasky of Olean, Rebecca L. (Dylan Brisbane) Lasky of Stafford, Va. and Emily J. (Alex Umble) Lasky St. Charles, Mo.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. today (Aug. 22, 2023) in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., at which time funeral services will be held. Dr. David Schulman will officiate. Burial will be in B'nai Israel Cemetery, Olean.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to B'nai Israel Congregation, P.O. Box 224, Olean, NY 14760.
