DEATHS.
ANSON.—On the 14th ult., at Deyrah Dhoon, Octavius Henry St. George Anson, Brevet Major of her Majesty's 9th Lancers, second surviving son of the late General Sir George Anson, G.C.B.. from the great fatigue and exposure during the late mutiny, having served all through the Punjaub and Gwalior campaigns, also from the siege of Delhi to the fall of Lucknow. To the beloved memory of Octavius Henry St. George Anson H.M. 9th Lancers who departed this life at Deyrah 14th January 1859 in the 42nd year of his age. His death was caused by disease brought on by exposure and fatigue during the campaigns of 1857/1858 before Delhi and Lucknow. This monument is erected by his devotedly attached but deeply afflicted widow.
