He was first employed at the former Carnegie-Illinois Steel plant in Farrell and later was maintenance supervisor at Hickory Township schools. He retired from Lee Plumbing, Sharon. Mr. Orr was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sharpsville; a charter member of Hickory Volunteer Fire Department; and a member of Hickory Fire Police.
His wife the former Bertha Grant, whom he married in 1914, died in October 1938. Surviving are a son, Irvin G. Orr, Hermitage; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Vivian and Lorene; a son Chester; a sister, Nellie Orr and a great-granddaughter, Kathleen. {Sharon Herald}
