Edward "Eddie" Lee Baker, 91, of Kokomo, passed away at 10:07 am on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Community Howard Regional Health Hospital. He was born in McGrawsville, Indiana, on December 29, 1931, the son of Walter and Esther (Layden) Baker. He married Carolyn Jean Proctor on December 10, 1950. They were married for 25 years. They had four children together, Deborah, Michelle, Stephanie and John. On August 14, 1976, he married Marijo Main. They raised her four daughters Melinda, Melissa, Michelle and Vicky. They were married for 41 years. She preceded him in death in 2017.

Eddie graduated from Clay Township High School in 1950 then attended Indiana University Kokomo. He worked at Delco Electronics for over 40 years and retired in 1995. Prior to working at Delco Electronics, he worked at Montgomery Wards and owned El Compadre Restaurant. Eddie loved to cook and travel to see his family all over the country. He was a Purdue certified master gardener, member of the Indiana Rose Society, and Converse Masonic Lodge. He was one of the founding members of the Howard County Community Garden. Eddie could build anything and even built the home that they raised their family in. He was a member of the Connextion Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers, Robert and James Baker; in-law, Jim Main.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00am- 11:30 am on Saturday, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo. A brief eulogy will take place at 11:30 AM led by Pastor Jim Richey. A graveside service will be follow at Albright Cemetery
