Alma was the daughter of Ben and Marit (Helstad) Hanson, born Sept. 30, 1922.
She was baptized, confirmed and married at Lyster Lutheran Church in Urne, WI.
She graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1941.
In 1942, Alma married Frank Kohler. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage. To this union, two sons were born.
In 1984, Alma and her husband relocated from Milwaukee making their home
in Alma, WI.
They joined St. John Lutheran Church in Alma and was an active member of various groups.
She loved God and his magnificent creation…He made no mistakes. She enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking, crocheting many afghans and doilies for her family and friends.
Alma now has the joyful reunion with her parents, husband, Frank and her two sons, Steven who passed away during childhood and Brad Kohler on March 26, 2022 along with 8 sisters and 2 brothers.
We will all miss her kindness, love and feistiness…but we are also comforted that she is right where she longed to be.
A celebration of Alma's life will be held at J & J Barbecue Nelson, WI on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with 2:00 p.m. prayer reading and music.
A private burial will take place at Arlington Cemetery in Milwaukee at a later date.
