Daniel Patrick Mannix, 76, of Dennisport, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Cape Cod Hospital.

Born in Worcester on September 22, 1946, he was a son of the late Rita and Patrick Mannix. Daniel was raised in Shrewsbury, and graduated from Shrewsbury High School. He went on to proudly serve his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps until he was honorably and medically discharged, leaving with numerous decorations.

In his younger years, Daniel loved carpentry, particularly building houses. He also had a passion for fishing. His proudest accomplishment was being a founding member of the Central Massachusetts Shelter for Homeless Veterans where he served as treasurer.

In addition to his wife, Janet Ward of Dennisport; Daniel is survived by his sister, Maureen Mannix of Spencer; and several nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Patrick Mannix.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church, South Yarmouth. Burial will take place at MA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central MA Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 69 Grove St. Worcester, MA 01605
