Theresa was born in Seckmauern, Hesse, Darmstadt, Germany the daughter of Peter and Theresa (Broming/Bromy/Bronning) Hess. She immigrated to America with her family in 1837 at the age of 9 months. She married Max Hambrick on Jun. 20, 1854 in Louisville, KY. They had nine children; John, Louise, Elizabeth, Frank, William, Lillian, Charles, Margaret and Anna Barbara Hambrick.
