Lillian Gunn Boyer, 96, of Roanoke, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2008. She was born April 13, 1911, in Richmond, Va., to Samuel L. and Maude L. Gunn. Lillian and was predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas Howard Boyer; her parents; two brothers, Samuel L. Gunn Jr. and Kenneth F. Gunn; and two sisters, Elsie Gunn Harty and Gertrude Gunn Guadagno. She is survived by several nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Lisa Guadagno McGary; and sister-in-law, Theresa Gunn. Lillian was an active member of the Virginia Heights Baptist Church more than 50 years. She was a Deacon and served on many committees of the church. On January 12, 2003, she was honored by her church with the designation of "Deacon Emeritus." Funeral services will held at Virginia Heights Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, with the Rev. Nelson Harris officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 540-982-2100.
