He was born August 8, 1922 in Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii to Kanematsu and Okuma Yokotake Abo. He married Helen "Lorraine" Fusae Fujimoto on January 11, 1957 in the Laie Hawaii Temple. He was a man of great faith and a loving heart whose service touched the lives of many. He served as Mission President of the Japan Tokyo Mission from 1971 to 1974, as a counselor in the Stake Presidency in the Honolulu Hawaii West Stake from 1975 to 1981, then as a Stake President of the Honolulu Hawaii West Stake from 1981 to 1990, and as the Japan Tokyo Temple President from 1991 to 1992. Those who knew him will miss his wise counsel and loving spirit. He cared for those who could not care for themselves and spent many tireless hours helping and serving other people. Although we may miss him, we know that he has gone to a better place where, freed from this mortal world, he can continue to do what he did best on this earth; serving those around him.
