Film Director and Screenwriter. He is best known for his work during the silent era. One of his most notable works was the 1925 film "The Lost World," which featured his brother, Arthur Hoyt, as one of the actors. The film was also a pioneering effort in the use of stop-motion. Despite being known for his silent films, he also made movies during the talking era, such as "Jungle Menace" (1937), "The Last Stand" (1938), "Lady in the Death House" (1944), and "The Missing Corpse" (1945).
