On January 7, 1874, she was married to John Melrose. To this union four children were born: two sons and two daughters. One son and one daughter preceded their mother to the other world.
Mr. Melrose died in April 1884. After living twenty-three years at Goldfield, Mrs. Melrose moved to Eagle Grove where she spent twenty-three years more of her life.
A second marriage occurred April 26, 1893, when Mrs. Melrose was united in the bonds of matrimony to E.A. Morse.
In early life Mrs. Melrose was confirmed in the Lutheran church. While living at Goldfield she united with the Methodist church of which she was a member at the time of her death which occurred very suddenly Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 4, 1919.
Those who remain to mourn her death are her husband, E.A. Morse, of Eagle Grove; a daughter, Mrs. May Williams, of Denver, CO; a son, Charles S. Melrose, of Jasper, MN., and a brother, Oliver Anderson, of Hardy, Iowa. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church of Eagle Grove last Friday afternoon conducted by the pastor, Rev. Chas. H. Seward. Internment was at Goldfield.
