Elizabeth Irene "Beth" (Walters) Ramsey, age 60 of Portage, IN passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023. She was born on December 16, 1962 in Gary, IN to Simon and Margaret "Eileen" (Schiess) Walters.
Beth is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Tony Ramsey; son, Tyler Ramsey; three sisters, Kathleen (Charles) Heckman, Linda (David Knocke) Kozlowski, Mary "Peggie" Sams; sister in law, Ruth Walters; brother, Raymond (Regina) Walters; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Simon "Bob" Walters; and sister, Maureen Walters Starr.
Beth graduated from Portage High School, class of 1980, and worked as a Teacher Assistant for the Portage School System for the last six years. She loved working with the children and enjoyed attending many school sporting and musical events. Beth previously worked in Chicago as a Proofreader for many years, a skill she honed in her daily life whether it was welcome or not. She was an avid Cubs fan and loved to read.
Funeral Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery, Portage, IN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
