Suzanne Stiffler Higgins went to be with our Lord on March 11th, 2018 at the age of 84.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Bagwell Stiffler and father, Lloyd Alpheus Stiffler and brother, Lloyd E. "Sonny" Stiffler.

Suzanne is survived by her loving husband, William Frederick "Fred" Higgins, of 65 years. They were married in the chapel of First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC on March 29, 1953.

Suzanne is lovingly remembered by her daughter Leigh Ann Higgins of Jacksonville, NC, her son Robby Higgins (Gina) and their daughter Lily of Hendersonville, NC. Her sisters Patricia Thomas (Jack) of Wilmington and Margaret Falls of Charlotte, and her brother Gary Stiffler (Lee Anne) of Winston-Salem, also four nieces and two great nieces.

Suzanne was born in Hendersonville, NC on November 25, 1933. She graduated from Hendersonville High School in 1951 where she sang in Glee Club and played flute in the band. She then went on to attend Blanton's Business College in Asheville. She also attended Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC to learn sign language. The majority of her career was as book keeper and business partner with her spouse at Higgins Quality Press in downtown Hendersonville.

Suzanne loved gathering for picnics in Pisgah Forest when family from out of town came to visit. She enjoyed singing in the Hendersonville Chorale and church choir as well as participating in Bible studies.

The celebration of life service will be held at in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 312 Fifth Avenue West, Hendersonville, NC on Saturday, March 24th at 1:00 pm with Rev. Steve Scoggins officiating. Reception to follow in the church fellowship hall.
