Patty Hazelgrove, 78 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at her residence. She was born on July 17, 1945 in Corbin, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Earl "Red" Lamphere and Sarah N. "Nancy" (Griffith) Lamphere. She married Ron Hazelgrove and he survives. She is also survived by her daughter, April (Eric) Mathis of Nolensville, Tennessee, brother-in-law, Kenneth F. Conway of Edinburgh, Indiana, daughter-in-law, Kimmy Hazelgrove of Amherst, Ohio, grandchildren, Taylor (Josh) Beller, Zachary (Ali) Hazelgrove, Nathan Mathis, Elizabeth Lemons, Lillie Mathis, Brandon Hazelgrove, Catelyn Hazelgrove, and Jack Hazelgrove, and great-grandchildren, Cooper Beller and Hardy Beller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Bradley Lemons and Brian Hazelgrove, and sister, Phyllis Rae Conway.

She graduated from Edinburgh High School in 1963 and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh.

Patty learned to work hard at a young age delivering milk with her father and valued education her whole life. She developed a sense of manners and work ethic that helped propel her through life. She was a lady who would speak her mind and challenge assumptions, and knew the value of understanding history. She rose up the corporate ladder working as the office manager for Amos Thompson which eventually became International Automotive Components (IAC) paving the way for women to follow. It was there she met the love of her life, Ronnie Hazelgrove, and from that point on they were inseparable.

With deep respect and love for her community, Patty lived most of her life in Edinburgh and worked to make it a better place to live. She participated in Antique Club and was a past officer of the Lions Club. She was generous and philanthropic, frequently helping out at local events to lend a hand. At home, she was an avid reader, enjoyed watching her favorite Indiana teams on (especially Notre Dame Football) and was a fervent supporter of her family's military service. She had a talent for arts and crafts, creating paintings that hang around her home, finishing needlepoint work and making knitted gifts for family.

She and Ron would travel frequently to visit family and friends and participate in Vietnam reunions and state and local events to honor the fallen. Her kids and grandkids were always delighted to come home to their favorite foods when they visited and she would readily share her recipes and wisdom if they wanted to learn. Whether a family member, or friend, you always received a touching and thoughtful handwritten note for your special day or as a thank you.

Our family would like to express our profound gratitude for the love shown to Patty and outpouring of support received during this difficult time. In her honor, donations can be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

A funeral service will be conducted by Elliott Parmer at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be on Sunday, September 10 from 2:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
