Mrs. Kittie Borland Corse, 78, widow of the late Jerome B. Corse died of a heart attack at her Rock Island street home here at 8pm Monday. Mrs. Corse had been confined to her bed since Wednesday. She had been in poor health for several years.

Born in Rossie, July 1, 1858, youngest daughter of William and Harriet Wilder Collier. Mrs. Corse was adopted by Charles and Charlotte Smith Borland of Dekalb after her parents death when she was three years old. She lived with her foster parents in Dekalb until her marriage to Jerome Corse in Richville. Most of her life was spent in the vicinity of Gouverneur living on a farm on the Richville road just outside the village for 35 years.

About eight years ago the family moved to Rock Island street. Mr. Corse died on March 8, 1930. Mrs. Corse was a member of the Baptist church and a member of the Women's Relief Corps.

Surviving are one daughter, Miss Vaughn Corse, Gouverneur; one foster sister, Mrs. Lena True Fulton, and two foster brothers, Charles Borland of Watertown and John Borland of Evans Mills.
