FRANK ELWOOD DONOVAN SR., 69 of Route 2, Front Royal, died Jan. 17 at Warren Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Jan. 20 at Maddox Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. James Burke. Burial was in Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick.
Mr. Donovan was born June 12, 1921 in Edinburg, son of Scott and Lucinda Haun Donovan. He was a veteran of World War II, US Army, and was a retired painter for US Steel. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Front Royal and Giles B. Cook Post 53 of the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Sadie M. Donovan of Front Royal; three sons, Frank Elwood Donovan Jr. and Larry O'Brian Donovan of Front Royal and David Bruce Donovan of Linden; one daughter Gloria Christine Donovan of Front Royal; two brothers, Charles Donovan of Alexandria and Leonard Donovan of Front Royal, one sister Dorothy Gatliff of Fisher Hill; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John Lake, John Lake, Jr., Roger Donovan, Gene Donovan, Richard Donovan, and William Matthews. Honorary pallbearers were members of Giles B. Cook Post 53 of the American Legion.
