Geraldine LaQuretta Peeples was born March 28, 1940, in Atoka, Oklahoma to Jess Melva and Mary Pauline (Cooksey) Boyer. She completed her earthly journey on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Wilkins Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Duncan at the age of 83.

The family will greet visitors on Monday, September 11, between 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Services are planned for Tuesday, September 12, at 10:00 A.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rusty McLen and Perry Brake officiating. A live stream of her service will be available by visiting her obituary page at www.whittfh.com. Serving as pallbearers are Bobby Brake, Thurmon Amerson, Michael Ivey, Robert Hornbeck Jr. IV, Luis Peeples, and Kelly Robinson. Honorary pallbearers are Todd Boyer, Bryon Boyer, Johnny Boyer, Paul Boyer, Larry Brake, Jaron Boyer and Jonathan Boyer. Interment will follow in the Addington Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

Following her graduation from high school, Geraldine was employed as the Motor Shop secretary at Halliburton for many years and also performed home health care for Mrs. Esther Halliburton. She loved to play softball. She was a talented guitarist and singer which she continued while living at the nursing home. Geraldine loved to babysit and would drive cross-country to stay with her grandchildren, but she couldn't follow simple in-town directions very well.

She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, William Odus Peeples, Sr; her first grandchild, Cherie Anderson; son-in-law, John Robinson; and siblings: Candy Mash, Charlie Boyer, Mary Brake, and Wanda Boyer.

Geraldine is survived by her children: Cheryl Lynn McLen and husband Rusty of Palestine, TX, William Odus Peeples Jr. and wife Virginia of Lawton, Charles Melvel Peeples of New Town, ND; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers: Jesse Boyer and wife Carolyn of Comanche, Gwin Boyer and wife Vickie of Azle, TX; sisters: Melba Amerson and husband Thurmon of Comanche, Hattie Brown and husband Robert of Edmond; brother-in-law, Bobby Brake of Duncan; sister-in-law, Shirley Boyer of Duncan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Geraldine's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Wilkins Nursing Home for the compassionate care she was given while she was entrusted in their care. A special note of gratitude to her wonderful roommate, Patricia "Trish" Cummins who always looked out for Geraldine when the family was not able to be there.
