OKOLONA - "Josie" Josephine Randall Hooks, age 75, died Monday, August 15, 1988, at her home in Okolona. She was born and reared in Egypt, Chickasaw County, and was the daughter of the late Joseph "Joe" Randall and Elizabeth "Bettie" Doss Randall Gunn. She was the youngest of seven children. She was a homemaker and cafeworker and lived in Okolona for the past 40 years. She was the widow of the late Nelece McAllister and Monroe "Buddy" Hooks, Sr.
One daughter Paulene McAllister Harris preceded in death. She joined Red Bud M. B. Church and later united with Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church.
Services were held Friday August 19, at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold Arrington officiating. Burial was in the McAllister Family Plot, Okolona Cemetery. Carter and Sons Funeral Home of West Point was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Simpson, of Milwaukee, Wisc., Slyvester Isbell of Okolona; Alice Cunningham of St. Louis Mo.; twelve grandchildren, nine step children and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Baker, George Bradford, Mark Simpson, Sylvester Isbell, Jr., James Johnson, and Kary Cunningham.
Honorary Pallbearers were grandsons and great grandsons. Flower bearers were friends.
