Donald Monroe George, 75, Sheffield, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Visitation will be Sunday, September 17, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel Monday, September 18, beginning at 2:00 p.m., with Linda Vickers will officiating. Interment will be in Barton Cemetery.
Donald was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Rogers Group. Preceding him in death were his parents, Clyde and Mary George, and grandson, Derek Shane Brooks, Jr.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of forty -three years, Diane George; children, Donna K. Roberts (Mark), Marie Sherrill, Melissa George, Shonda Brooks (Derek), Travis George (Shayna), B.J. George, and Larry "Bubba" George; eighteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry George, Travis George, Billy George, Derek Brooks, Joey Hallmark, and Jonathan Thrasher.
