HELEN ORR HAYWARD PRUSSO MASON DIED: In Petaluma on July 5, 2002. Mrs. Mason was born on September 4, 1907 in Oakland, California to Louis; and Gertrude (Simpson) Prusso. She was the granddaughter of Candelario DeHaro of San Francisco and great granddaughter to Don Francisco de Haro, the first mayor of San Francisco. Helen graduated from the Holy Rosary Academy of Woodland in 1927 and went on to attend U.C. Berkeley. She married Vernon A. Mason (deceasd October 1997) on December 6, 1930 in Oakland, CA. Survived by three sons, Dr. Richard A. of Derwood, MD, Dr. Robert V. (Marianne) of Manhattan Beach; and David A (Louise) of Santa Rosa, CA; nine grandchildren and nine great nephews and one niece. Mrs. Mason retired from the First Presbyterian in 1972 when they moved to Yountville, CA where she lived until 2000. Helen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Napa, Daughters of California Pioneers and P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter PJ, Napa. She also belonged to the Napa Valley Doll Club for many years. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Contributions to a favorite charity is encouraged.
