Andrew "Andy" Weber, of Kiel, passed away on September 15, 2023 at Froedert Holy
Family Memorial, Manitowoc. He was born March 24, 1938 in Marytown, WI, son of
the late Claude and Anna (Aulbach) Weber.
Andy attended Kiel High School. He then farmed with his father Claude on the
family farm in Meeme until his retirement. In his retirement, he drove harvester for
Lakeside Foods, something he looked forward to every year.
Andy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and antiquing, looking for that special milk bottle for
his collection. He also enjoyed his "shed" where he planted hundreds of trees –
creating for himself and for the many birds he loved to watch – a quiet and peaceful
spot. Andy also looked forward to the afternoons he spent at Sessler's and later
Hika Bay, where he enjoyed talking with his buddies – there wasn't a world issue
they couldn't solve. Andy enjoyed traveling, especially to visit family in North Dakota
and Germany.
Survivors include his sister, Edna Backhaus, his brother Eugene (Julie) Weber and
his sister-in-law Lois Weber along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives
and friends as well as his extended family in Germany. Andy was a special uncle to
his many nieces and nephews, and they will miss his smile and his jokes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Joe (Johanna)
Weber, his sisters and brothers-in-law Marie (Claude) Lisowe, Dorothy (Robert)
Herr, his brother-in-law Romy Backhaus, his brother Paul Weber, and his best
friends Carly, Plug and Leon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 21,
2023 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 11928 Marken Rd, School Hill. Cremation has
taken place and inturnment will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held
prior to the Mass, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Andy was a member of Holy Trinity
Catholic Church.
We thank the staff at Field of Dreams Assisted Living, Kiel and River's Bend,
Manitowoc; the staff at Froedert Holy Family Memorial; and Sharon Richardson
Hospice for the love and care you showed Andy. Thank you, especially, to Tammy
and Cassie - you both were very special to him.
