Frank was born Jan. 24, 1939, in Clifton, Tenn., to Joe and Ora Ricketts, who preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 0569. He worked for various medical supply companies for 44 years as vice president of marketing before opening up his own business, Custom Craft Golf, which he owned and operated with his wife until 2006. Frank was an avid golfer, loved fishing, skiing and darts, and was a talented artist and musician. He played in a Dixieland Band as well as the U.S. Navy Band. His moral ethics and captivating personality made people love to be around him. His loving ways and big heart will forever be remembered. "Hit 'em straight."
Frank was preceded in death by his son, Frank Roland Ricketts Jr., and brother, Bill Ricketts.
Survivors: Wife of 29 years, Charli Ricketts; daughter, Kaye Hill and her husband, Kevin, of Gilmer; sons, Geoffrey Ricketts of Grapevine and Michael Brimage of Arlington; brother, Sam Ricketts and wife, Faye, of Nashville, Tenn.; grandsons, John Price of Albuquerque, N.M., and Dustin Price of Longview; granddaughters, Keely Collings of Wayne, Mich., and Robin Sandoval of Waxahachie; great-grandsons, Joseph and Nathen Sandoval of Waxahachie; and numerous other relatives.
