Kenneth (Kenny) Keith King, Sr., October 21, 1956, to April 11, 2008. We celebrate the life of Kenny King, beloved son, brother, husband, father, papa, best friend, and fishing buddy. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert H. King, and is survived by his mother, Dorothy M. (Hanna) King and his loving wife of 33 years, Julie. Also surviving are their six children, Kenneth (Kenny) Jr. and Melanie; Jason and Sarah; Karrie and Todd Housh; Josh and Tara; Kristin and Matt; Jessi and Joe. His grandchildren, Tyler, Isaac, Quenten, Levi, Savannah, Salihah, Isabelle, and Taylor will greatly miss their papa. Kenny was the youngest of seven. His surviving siblings are, Ronald, Lindsey, David, Alice Ozanic, Susan VanNatta and Mark. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Kenny was an irreplaceable person and touched many lives in his 51 years. His stories could entertain all and his smile always lit up the room. Fishing was his passion second to his family and friends. His fishing buddies were all his brothers. They also fulfilled his life by sharing his love of the outdoors. He will truly be missed, but his spirit will live with all who loved him. The fish are breathing a sigh of relief. Your hiding spots are now safe again. Friends may call Monday, April 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Maple Hill Funeral Home, 3300 Shawnee Dr. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Kenny King to Cancer Action, 10520 Barkley St, Mission, KS 66212 or KU Med Cancer Center, 2330 Shawnee Mission Pkwy., Westwood, KS 66205.
