Edward Glenn Ford, 57, of Slippery Rock, went to join his dad and other fishing buddies at the best fishing spot in the sky on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023.
He was born in Butler, on July 9, 1966, to Edward and Nancy Ford. Growing up in Meridian, he was a fisherman and a football player through and through, playing offensive tackle for the Golden Tornado and Allegheny Gators, and fishing every place and every chance he could with anyone and everyone willing to cast a rod with him. He was a member of Center Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock, volunteered at Feed My Sheep food pantry and was a dedicated public servant with the Board of Elections.
Ed married Karen (Lamison) in January of 1989 and together they moved to Pittsburgh, Ashland, Ky. and finally back to the Butler area. If Ed wasn't at the creek or keeping an eye out for Bigfoot news from local BigFoot Expeditions, he was crafting for his other passion, Halloween. He spent countless hours creating decorations to delight trick-or-treaters of all ages, and never failed to chuckle every time someone laughed at the "Ben Dover" tombstone he made.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Elliot (Stevie) Venford and Sarah; brother, Doug (Mary), of Butler; and a niece and nephew, Jill and Jefferson.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, and uncles, Larry Greenway, of Cabot, and Jim Henricks, of Grove City.
