Elizabeth "Peg" Cassel died Dec. 20 at age 89.
An area resident for 20 years, Peg was born Elizabeth Grawemeyer in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of John Adolph and Elise Scheirich Grawemeyer, their youngest of 6 children and the only daughter.
She married Joseph Franklin "Frank" Cassel on May 9, 1943; he passed away July 4, 2004.
She taught Foods and Nutrition at Colorado State University before moving to Fargo, North Dakota in 1950 where she was a counselor and administrator at St. Luke's School of Nursing in Fargo from 1964 to 1986.
She is survived by children, Jay, David, Ann and Lynn; and four grandchildren.
