Virginia G. Howell, 86, of Rossville, died on Monday, August 3, 2009, to be with her Heavenly Father and her beloved husband, Richard, to whom she was married for 66 years.
She was born in Walker County, Ga., to the late William and Ruth Griffin, and was preceded in death by her brother, William Griffin Jr., sister, Mary Nell Griffin.
Virginia was a member of Newnan Springs UMC where she also belonged to the Jolly Elders, Wesley Sunday School Class. She was an avid antique lover, and a member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Rice of East Ridge, granddaughter, Stacie Rice of East Ridge, sister, Hilda Ezell of Rossville, several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Doug and Glenda Ellis.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Newnan Springs UMC with Rev. Mike Lowerly officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens-South.
Her family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at Newnan Springs UMC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Newnan Springs UMC.
