WORLD WAR IIJohn T. Shovlin, 86, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013. Born in Fort Wayne, John had recently moved back after spending 1993 to November 2012 in Fairfield Glade, TN. He worked in accounting with the U.S. Post Office for 29 years. John was a member of Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, Fairfield Glade TN, Crossville Carving Club, Crossville, TN and was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. He was an avid I.U. basketball fan who enjoyed golfing, traveling and cooking, but most of all loved his family. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca S. Shovlin of Fort Wayne; son, Robert (Judy) Shovlin of Logansport; daughter, Linda Kroells of Marietta, GA; step-sons, Jeffery Morgan of Fort Wayne; Charles (Rowena) Morgan of Bluffton; and Gene Paul Morgan of Albion; grandchildren, Kelly (Shawn) Keith of Marietta, GA; Beth Anne (Matt) Stonebraker of Indianapolis; Casey (Angela) Morgan of Huntington; Kristine Morgan of Bluffton; Kimberly (Stephen) Barr of Indianapolis; and Jamie (Christopher Hartley) Hobson of Farmville, VA; and 8 great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Shovlin; father, Joseph William Shovlin; mother, Mary Theresa Shovlin; brother, Thomas Shovlin; sister, Mary Ann Hutsell; son-in-law, Dennis Kroells; and grandson, Patrick Morgan. Memorial Service is 10 a.m. Saturday at Covenant United Methodist Church, 10001 Coldwater Road, with calling 1 hour prior. Memorial calling also 5 - 8 p.m. Friday at D. O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road. Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House or Hospice of Cumberland County.
