ANTHONY "TONY" DOMINIC BADA, 87, entered into glory on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2016. Born Sept. 2, 1929, in South Bend, Ind., he was the only son of Italian immigrants, the late Nicola and Rosaria (Antonelli) Bada. He graduated from Riley High School where he met the love of his life and wife of 64 years, Dolores (Bockover). He served his country in the early 1950's with the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Hood, Texas. The couple married June 28, 1952. Upon his discharge, he began a career in the plumbing and heating industry with the Crane Co. of South Bend before moving to Fort Wayne, in 1961, to continue in that field with the P & H Supply Co. which later became Wayne Pipe & Supply. He retired as a Division Manager in 1995 after 34 years of service. Tony was a member and servant of Grace Episcopal Church and was a charter member of St. Phillips and St. James Episcopal Churche which later became Grace Episcopal. Tony loved Golf, Bid Euchre, cheering for "Old Notre Dame" and supporting the Chicago Cubs as a lifelong "Die hard Cubs fan", but none of that compared to his love for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Dolores; and sister, Rose (Salvatore) Pontecorvo. His legacy lives on with his four children, daughter, Jana (Henry) Root of Fort Wayne; sons, Thomas (Jackie) Bada and Richard (Cheri) Bada, both of Fort Wayne; and daughter, Juli (Dan) Goodwin of Indianapolis. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary and Adalgisa. The family would like to extend its thanks to the staff at Covington Commons Assisted Living Center and Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion in the final stages of his life. Memorial gathering is noon Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Grace Episcopal Church, 10010 Aurora Pl., Fort Wayne, with calling two hours before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Grace Episcopal Church
