Barbara Ann Grant, age 82 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. She was born in Alabama on November 6, 1940, to the late Roy and Callie Geneva (Robertson) Roberson. Barbara was a devoted member of Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a participant of the Joy Club. Before her retirement, she was employed as an administrative secretary at AEDC. She was a part of the Franklin County Election Committee where she counted the absentees. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, playing bridge, collecting Hallmark ornaments, working crossword puzzles in the Herald Chronicle and volunteering with the Good Samaritan. She enjoyed spending her Thursday lunch hour with the November birthday girls, Callie Hood, Betty Pinell, Barbara Stewart, and Charlotte Hall and watching Saturday University of Tennessee Football. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Milton Grant; and son, Kevin Milton Grant. Barbara is survived by her beloved four-legged best friend Magnolia Blossom; life-long friend and cousin, Callie (Johnny) Hood of Winchester; cousins, Richard (Brenda) McFarlane of Murfreesboro, Sharon (Mark) Swafford of Winchester, Robin (Sharon) Hood of Winchester, Mitchell (Glenys) Robertson of Athens, Alabama, Phillip (Shirley) Robertson of Huntland, Bobby (Kaye) Keith of Winchester, Pat (David) Prince of Alabama, Laurie Prince (Robert) Mills of New Market, Alabama, Cynthia Prince Pack of Hazel Green, Alabama,; aunt, Bessie Robertson Hall of Huntland; sister-in-law, Karen Bain of Bardstown, Kentucky; niece, Sarah Bain of Kentucky; nephews, Stephen Bain and Stuart Bain both of Kentucky; and many friends. Visitation will be Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 1:00pm -2:00pm at Watson Funeral Home with funeral service following at 2:00pm at Watson Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Michael Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Watson Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be sent to the Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church or Animal Harbor.
