Ernest L. Cutting II

Ernest L. Cutting II, 56, of Lower Main Street, died Friday [21 Dec 1984] at the New London Hospital.

He was born in Croydon on March 20, 1928, the son of Asa and Maude (Nelson) Cutting.

Mr. Cutting had lived in Sunapee for the last 27 years. He was a selectman tor 17 years and was ta the office full time everyday using his considerable knowledge to help the town function and to assist the citizens.

He was a member of the Sunapee Planning Board for 18 years, a member of the Sunapee Volunteer Fire Department, the Sunapee Hydro Committee, the Ben Mere Recreation Committee, the junior high school building committee, the Sunapee Lions Club, the New England Handicapped Sportsmen Association and the County Law Enforcement Officers Association. He was the first superintendent of the combined water and sewer department.

He also served on the Highway Safety Committee, the executive board of the Sunapee Cub Scouts, as honorary chairman of the Sullivan United Way Fund and as a special police officer.

Mr. Cutting had been formerly employed by the Smith Construction Company.

He leaves his wife, Justine (Malouin) Cutting of Sunapee; two daughters, Joan Johnson of Tucson, and Nancy Cutting of Sunapee; a brother, Asa Jr. of Charlestown; a sister, Susan Leone of Grantham; one aunt; also several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be at a later date.
