Sacred to the memory of Daniel Crommelin Smith, Lieut.-
Col. in the Madras Native Infantry. He departed this
life on the 23rd day of May 1828, aged 46 years unblessed
through life, lamented in his end. The conduct of this
excellent man was regulated by the noblest principles that
can adorn the human mind in which were blended the per-
fection of moral truth and sublimity of Christian grace.
