David Wayne "Bubba" Ethridge, Sr., 71, husband of Linda Thomas Ethridge, passed away peacefully Friday, September 29, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born on June 3, 1952, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Liston Harvey Ethridge and the late Lorena Long Ethridge.

Mr. Ethridge retired from Arcelor Mittal Steel Mill of Georgetown after 40 years of service and was a member of Andrews Presbyterian Church and Steel Workers of America. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and hunting, and was a Clemson Tigers fan. Mr. Ethridge also enjoyed going to the mountains, particularly Cades Cove. He had a great love for his family and loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of Andrews; five children, David Ethridge, Jr. (Breann) of Georgetown, Leslie Barnes (Tony) of Andrews, Robin Smith (Paxton) of Pamplico, Mickie Davis (Bernie) of Hemingway and Kellie McCutcheon (Dusty) of Scranton; 10 grandchildren, Landon Ethridge, Emily Barnes, Seth Smith (Taylor), Mary Smith, AJ Smith, Whitney Smith, Heylee Davis, Hunter Davis, Matthew McCutcheon and Carson McCutcheon; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Vernon Ethridge (Bonnie) of Andrews; two sisters-in-law, Debbie Allen of Columbus, Georgia, and Jenny Allen (Greg Mikell) of Pensacola, Florida; longtime close friends, Steve and Brenda Wheeler of Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 37 years, Cindy A. Ethridge; two brothers, Harvey Ethridge and Bobby Joe Ethridge; and a sister, Nellie Powell.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Monday October 2, 2023, at Andrews Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Sunday at Andrews Presbyterian Church.
