On page 4 of the October 11, 1923 edition of the Black Dispatch, under "Key West Keys," it states: "Mrs. Clara Brooks, the wife of Mr. Jas. Brooks, [sic - Lawson Brooks] was buried here Sunday. Sh leaves a husband, a little son, parents and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her demise. Mrs. Brooks was well thought of by everyone who knew her."
Clara was the first wife of Lawson Brooks, Sr. and the mother of Lawson Brooks, Jr.
