Annie Laurie Nolan - A native of Birmingham, AL and resident of Mobile for the majority of her life, died Saturday, November 10, 2007 at her home. She was 99. Mrs. Nolan served as President of the Mobile Historic Preservation Society from 1963-1965. She served as Ticket Chairman of the Mobile Opera for over 30 years. She amazed patrons by knowing their seat numbers without seeing their tickets. Mrs. Nolan was a member of Government Street Presbyterian Church. She will be fondly remembered as an elegant, gracious hostess and true lady. Everyone who knew her loved her! Mrs. Nolan was preceded in death by her husband, Van Ness Nolan. Survivors include three children, George (Ann) Freeman, John (Marie) Freeman, and Vanessa (Justin) Watson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her special dear friend, Mary Clausen; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held from Government Street Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the caregivers and sitters who lovingly took care of Mrs. Nolan during her final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Government Street Presbyterian Church, 300 Government St., Mobile, AL 36602 or The Mobile Opera, 257 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL 36602. Arrangements by RADNEY FUNERAL HOME, 3155 Dauphin St., Ext., Mobile, AL 36606.
